ThePetitePink with three alternate colour stripes on bottom of body and around cuffs of sleeves. (Please note that the turquoise on the pink jumper in photo 1, 3, 4 and 9 is no longer available for this style, the light blue or teal is a nice alternative!).

ThePetitePink is one size, approx. 65cm across the chest (front), and 55cm long when laid flat. It’s a loose roll neck. In the photos, you can see it on someone 5’3/5’4, and around 55kg.

Made from 71% Superfine Brushed Alpaca wool - which gives a mohair-like appearance with non of the associated itch - 25% Merino Wool and just 4% Polyamide, it feels super soft and luxurious on the skin.

Please read garment care instructions BEFORE ordering! This handknit piece requires care - try not to think of it the same way as you might a mass, machine made garment, it should only ever be washed by hand, and should always be treated with kid gloves! Really consider this before ordering.

If you require adaptive clothing, I am more than happy to discuss your specific requirements. Please mention when filling out the form.

How to care for your garment - Yarn manufacturer’s guidelines

Hand Wash, max 30°C / Dry Flat

Other important information from the yarn manufacturers

All yarns have excess fibres (from production) that might come off as lint or shedding, in varied degrees that depend on how the yarn is spun. Brushed yarns ("hairier" yarns) have more of these loose fibers than other yarns, and therefor, shed more.

Shedding also depends on what is worn under or over the garment, and whether this pulls at the yarn fibres. It’s therefore not possible to guarantee that there will be no shedding.

Below are some tips on how to get the best result when working with hairier yarns:

  • Do NOT use a lint roller, brush or any method that pulls at the yarn.

  • Place the garment in a plastic bag and put it in your freezer - the temperature will cause the fibres to become less attached to each other, and excess fibres will come off easier. Leave in the freezer for a few hours before taking it out and shaking it again.

  • Wash the garment according to the instructions on the yarn label. Garments worked with hairier yarns usually need to be shaken once dry after washing, so that the hairs rise and any excess fibers can come off.

Sustainability

TheDoubleKnit is 100% knit by hand in 71% Superfine Alpaca, 25% Merino Wool, 4% Polyamide*. Yarn is purchased locally, and in small batches so that waste is kept to a very strict minimum.

MSGK yarn has been chosen for its quality, local availability, and the transparency of its producers.

From the yarn producers*:

“Our supplies mainly come from producers within the European market which, in the same way as Norway (where our main office and warehouse are situated), shall follow the EU’s taxonomy for a sustainable economy. They also, of course, follow the EU’s regulations regarding human rights, animal welfare and sustainability. We have deliveries from Peru, where our alpaca yarn comes from, and they have very similar regulations to the EU regarding these issues and they work actively with social responsibility.

“Our yarn producers work with and offer a wide spectrum of certifications for their products, such as GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard, RWS- Responsible Wool Standard, RAS - Responsible Alpaca Standard, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and Certified Sustainable Mohair.

“Polyamides come from Italy and Germany.

MSGK pieces are transported by An Post, and packaged in simple but functional cardboard boxes sourced from Northern Ireland.
